Applications are everywhere. In fact, our daily life revolves around the use of diverse applications available online. Be it for fitness, tracking menstrual cycle, countdown timer there is an application for everything you need! Day in and day out ace designers are working hard to create magnetic applications which contribute to our smooth living.

To think about it, what would we have done without such applications? Technology has broken all chains in the current times and has infused with our lives in an inseparable manner. We can now spot new restaurants in the city, check the reviews of the selected restaurants, order food online and what not! There is no need to go to the grocer anymore, there is an application for that too! Need medicines? No, you don’t have to go out for that too! Order through the application!

But in order to make such an application function, it must have a user-friendly interface. The design must be easy to use and attractive. So if you are planning on making an application anytime sooner these 7 app designing tips are essential for you to follow:

  • Try not to be over experimental:Though learning by trial and error is good, this is not a place for you to try that. While developing an application, it’s always advisable to stick with basic designs rule first, things that people are used to. Most successful applications have a similar interface. There are certain things that people are used to by trying out an application. For example, the envelope icon always refers to mail, and a pin refers to attachments. Try not to change the basics so as to keep it user-friendly. According to SEO expert Prince Kapoor– “Experimenting is good but over experimenting can actually backfire”. So always ensure to follow the basic rules first. You don’t want your users to end up being confused.
  • Form a Grid:Though grids may be invisible, they provide a great resource for determining spacing. Such a grid helps you to keep your application neat and organized. Additionally, grids help in sorting out and spacing pictures and texts, ensuring that they do not overlap. Thus effective margins and spacing can be maintained.
  • Design an interactive logo: Logo plays a huge role in creating a brand image and any ordinary logo won’t do the job. Instead, you can use logo maker tools like Canva to design an attractive logowithin minutes for free. Though if you are looking for something expert level and budget is not an issue, you can always hire a designer.
  • Keep it Simple:Simplicity is the key for ace app designing. However, that does not mean that your design has to be basic, however, do not go overboard with complexity.  It is important to remember that most users will be using the app via their mobile phones. Thus it is important to keep the elements neat and spread out allowing more space. It is important to hold onto the attention of the user, which is overblown away if there are too many distractions on the application.
  • Take care of Sizes and Shapes: While designing an application a designer needs to be aware of the various shapes and sizes of phones. Smartphones of the same brand and manufacturer vary in their sizes and resolutions. It is important to keep in mind that many people with different phone sets will be using the app. Thus it is important to consider as many screen options as possible.
  • Add Repeating Elements:In order to get the users more accustomed to the usage of the app, it is important to have repetition of elements across the various pages. For example, if the subscribe button is of a certain style on one page, uniformity of the same must be used in all other pages.
  • Never keep Separate Text: It is advisable not to have huge space between two contents in the app. As a developer, you need to come up with something interesting to create that space. Even if you are using pictures, that cannot be an option for every page break. Use of capitalization, bright colors, and interesting elements are essential so as to make an app design look appealing.
  • Balance the Color Contrast:Color plays a very important role in app designing. It is advisable not to use a huge range of colors, neither too bright nor too light. Surely you do not want to hurt someone’s eyes by using vibrant or bright colors. In fact, all the colors must be suited to their given purpose. As stated earlier, it is advisable not to go for experimenting, and the same applies o colors. In that light, use colors which people are used to, for example, green for yes and red for no. If the reverse is used the user might get confused.

These are some of the most effective tips that you need to keep in mind while designing an interactive app for your business. Please, let me know if you have any doubts.
