Running One Blog Vs Multiple Blogs: Which Is Best and How?

Any beginners would love to start with multiple blogs as they may be interested in various streams like travel, health, technology, music, gadgets, and so on. They wanted to blog on everything they come across.

However, as a blogger, we know the headaches in running a blog. I don’t refer blogging is that hard, but it’s also not as easy as melting ice. Bloggers, when newbies will start multiple blogs and struggle to handle. At some any point of time, they will lose their hope and find blogging is ineffectual. They might even hate blogging.

Why Bloggers get vanished in starting out multiple blogs?

Many bloggers started out with blogs, couldn’t sustain and thrown out of the industry. Every blog claims a minimum of 2 to 3 quality blog posts every week. It does not wind up with merely posting content. You will have to promote it through social networks, generating quality backlinks on authority sites, outreach, and furthermore.

No way, you can bring success to any blogs without the above-said tasks. Even, it’s endless. You have to keep researching, analyzing to outrank your competitions. In short, you have to be spending all your time in front of your machine.

Now, think of it for multiple blogs.

Ok. Let us consider that somehow you are manageable and handling all these peculiar tasks for your multiple blogs. Finally, you couldn’t make results out of it. How hopefully would you have worked out on those numerous blogs? Nothing turned out. You have spent hours in front of the machine like there is nothing else in the world. At last, your blog survives in front of you with no use.

Now, you will pitifully conclude to wrap up your blogs and hate blogging ditching over a year or more.

Multiple Blogs is not a good idea; what’s more?

I am not a hater of running multiple blogs. However, I am contented to reveal the risks of handling multiple blogs. If you want a blog for your passion for writing something about your interests or blogging for fun; then it is okay. To make money from your blog, then multiple blogs is a bad idea. I don’t recommend especially at the start.

The quantity of organic traffic is proportional to the blog earning.  In case of multiple blogs, you may be failing regarding SEO, hence traffic and obviously money. For instance, consider having 3 blogs; spending 3 hours a day on each blog (in total 9 hours). In another case, spend same 9 hours on a single blog. What do you think? Which one would be efficient? The latter one would be the successor. You can promote it well; generating massive traffic and earn for your entire living from a single place.

Running multiple blogs has its benefits, still

In the above section, I don’t mean all to bring down your confidence or spirit to have multiple blogs. There are expert bloggers lucratively running multiple authority blogs and earning from blogs like anything. There are hidden benefits too behind multiple blogs. I am here listing down here to make you stable if you wanted to start your second blog.

  • You might be aware the ups and downs learning stuff from your mistakes committed on your very first blog and strategically work on your next.
  • If you are multiple-personality who loves various channels, then you can have blogs on each of your interests and acquire reader base from various platforms.
  • Keep one for serious to make money online or fulfill your needs, another as a passion for writing for your readers and another for fun and so on.
  • You can have multiple doors open to building your brand. Branding through several gateways will reach the more extensive range of audience.
  • You will get more opportunities to employ various monetizing sources like sponsored posts, advertisements, etc.
  • Unfortunately, one failed to attain your goals, meet your demands with another.
  • Cross-promotion: promote one blog with the other generating more backlinks and influence to drive massive traffic. Make sure not to spam.

How to manage multiple blogs to make it fruitful?

I appreciate if you wish you own your second blog and willing to have multiple blogs.

You have to be more confident, tirelessly putting efforts, and patient to see the outcome of the blogs.

Every blog demands for more updates. Considering SEO niche blogs requires at least two high-quality blog posts once in a week. For tech related niche blogs, you cannot limit yourself to numbers. For broader niches, you may have to come up with even 2 or 3 posts on a daily basis.

You have to be strong enough in managing your time, prioritizing things, distribute content writing among multiple authors, strategically working, and so on.

The above-said qualities and techniques with highest blogging frequency are mandatorily required to drive some decent traffic to your multiple blogs.

Among all, what to do if I have multiple blogs; but impotent?

If you find it truly hard to have multiple fruitless blogs and compelled to put an end to this, then you have to do something cleverly.

I recommend you to put an endpoint and ditch the blogs that you find uninteresting and hard to promote. Unwilling working on something with no results brings concern. What if you try doing with minimum ratio of efforts and time getting the extreme level of results?

Gain huge reader base, ranking, and earnings out of optimal inputs and keep enjoying. Free from headaches and stress. There is another sphere out of blogging.

One blog is adequate to start with

There are very young bloggers now come up. If you are a student or a person who is passionate to blog, you may be overwhelmed to handle multiple blogs along with your regular daily activities.

Think of you has multiple blogs for which you want to feed frequently with quality content and inputs. Do you still love to ditch all your splendid hours’ sting in front of the machine? Not, at all. Analogous to that, gradual rise in anything is appreciable and will last forever. Moreover, having one blog benefits you as follows:

  • Free from stress and anxiety
  • Spend time with your friends and other relationships
  • Stays more focused hence get more results
  • Find more time to relax with outside world
  • Acquire strong target readership
  • Earn as you require

You can be able to bring it up to succeed with your innovations and creative ideas as focusing on one topic. Unless or until you are capable enough to lead your first blog attracting huge audience brilliantly; I would suggest staying with single one.

Have comprehensive research and analysis on your interested topic, efficiently plan, have a blog with breathtaking content and updates; make it successful.

Any famous favorite bloggers you see will have multiple blogs. Consider Neil Patel having neilpatel.com, quicksprout.com, kissmetrics.com without relying much on upon outsources for its smooth running. At the start, they might have initiated with one. As days pass on generating outcomes from the very first blog, move on to extending it to multiple blogs.

To wrap up

Having a blog and running it successfully is not a game to play around. Eagerly starting out with multiple blogs may felt great. With no expertise directly jumping into the ocean with loads may have an adverse impact on your blogging career. You will find it stressed and useless. At last, No success, No blogs.

Instead, start with a single blog. Be focused, start exploring, establish and become one and only in your niche standing out from the crowd. Being one and only is excellent than one among all. What do you say?

  • That is a very good topic, Satish. Having multiple will definitely create multiple earning sources, but one needs a solid team to manage them. As a beginner, it is always difficult to focus on a single niche and that's the reason people either end up with a multi-niche blog or multiple blogs. But the major problem is keeping the consistency or focus.

    • Hi Santanu,
Thanks, Santanu for the visit and the comment. I agree with your point that a major problem with running multiple blogs is the consistency that is of much importance. One needs to seek the help of a team of members in order to keep the engagement level of the blog to be maintained.
Thanks once again for your much valuable insights.

  • Hi Satish, It is certainly a big debate.

It requires a lot of effort to manage multiple sites simultaneously. Although nothing wrong with it, if the basic niche is what you know the best and educate the readers. But, think better how you are going to monetize with and what you would like to achieve with it.

Just the personal preference whether to go with a single site and create a brand around it or even contributing the time on the multiple blogs at the same time. Completely relies on the productivity.

Nice contribution on Reji's awesome blog! Have a great day
