In today’s post, I am publishing an interview with world renowned travel blogger and and online influencer Mr.Ryan Biddulph. In the interview, he reveals some of the secrets that got him mentioned in various top websites and other media.

Table of Contents

Reji Stephenson:-Could you please explain to my readers about some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?

Ryan Biddulph:- Writing 1000 to 10,000 words daily helped me immensely Reji. This helped me find my writing voice which allowed me to build an authentic blog and brand. Networking helped me too. Learning how to help other people by promoting them and commenting on their blogs was a difference maker for me.

Reji Stephenson;-What was the strategy you implemented to get your name mentioned on various websites including the Virgin blog and the likes? Do you think your blog commenting strategy was one among them?

Ryan Biddulph:- You know how most bloggers pitch top bloggers or writers two times and quit? I thought in terms of helping other top bloggers for a 3-6 month time frame, or longer. I got mentioned on these top blogs by giving of my time, talents and generosity for months and years. Effective blog commenting did play a part. Writing 3-5 paragraph comments made an impression on established bloggers.

Reji Stephenson:- I know that you had already authored quite a large number of e-books and you are very active when it comes to writing. But, what do you think about the future of blogging with the large scale use of Video content in the coming years? Do Video blogging will have more importance and all other type of contents will have less importance?

Ryan Biddulph:- Writing and video will both play a huge part in the future of blogging. As long as human beings exist, they will love the written word, so text-based blogging ain’t going anywhere. But video blogging is surging too. I cover myself by writing 1 or more guest posts daily, and I also film a YouTube Live, Facebook Live and Periscope Live video daily.

Reji Stephenson:-Do you have any plans of starting a YouTube channel along with your blog?

Ryan Biddulph:- I do have a YouTube channel currently and just noticed how I increased my video viewing length by 18 hours last month!

Reji Stephenson:-How do you manage to get time for blogging while you are travelling? Are there any tips you can offer for my readers for better time management skills?

Ryan Biddulph:- I make blogging a priority, so I blog no matter whether I am circling the globe or sitting in my home. I’d say to blog mainly for the fun of blogging because you will always make room for what you have fun doing. Work in 60-minute blocks and take 5 to 10-minute breaks every hour. Realize this; you don’t manage time, technically, but you do manage your choice. Most bloggers say they cannot find the time, but in truth, they are making comfortable or lazy choices, when if they were making uncomfortable or focused choices, they would always have enough time for blogging.

Reji Stephenson:-What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

Ryan Biddulph:-Being a problem solver who tackles a specific issue which relates to the needs of their audience is the A1 skill for a blogger to develop. I render the best service by helping bloggers with blogging tips.

Reji Stephenson:-who has impacted you most in blogging and how?

Ryan Biddulph:- Experience πŸ™‚ I have learned from Darren Rowse and Zac Johnson, but my experiences impacted me the most. Diving in, learning what worked, and what did work, these moments made the firmest impress on my mind.

Reji Stephenson:-What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your traffic to the blog?

Ryan Biddulph:-Commenting on other blogger’s blogs, promoting other bloggers on Twitter and other social sites and featuring other bloggers on your blog are the best ways to network and to drive traffic to your blog. I learned this; whatever you want, give. Meaning, if you want traffic, give traffic to other folks by helping them get traffic. This is by far the easiest way to get blog traffic quickly.

Reji Stephenson:-As a travel blogger, do you have any dream destination that you would like to visit soon?

Ryan Biddulph:- I’d love to go on an African safari soon!

Reji Stephenson:-I know that you visited Trivandrum, a southern most city in India in the state of Kerala a few years back. Since that is my native place, I would like to know your opinion about Kerala as a tourist destination?

Ryan Biddulph:- Wow, really Reji? That is so cool. You grew up in paradise. Now I know why Kerala is called God’s own country . We spent a little time in Trivandrum, busing in and out and walking around a little bit, but it reminded me of a nice little city called Hoboken here in New Jersey. Hip, happening, with plenty of things to do.
Kerala as a whole looked gorgeous. We spent three weeks at Kovalam Beach and adored the place. Everybody was so friendly! The beach was fabulous, the food excellent and the jungle type environment was fun for some relaxing mornings and evenings when the sun was not as bright.
I enjoyed walking the boardwalk, and my wife Kelli got an ayurvedic treatment for two weeks.
Kerala reminded me very much of Bali. One of my favourite places on earth that I would love to visit again.

Reji Stephenson:-Where would you like to be in blogging five years from now?

Ryan Biddulph:-Really, I just try to be in the moment and see where my fun energy, service and generosity take me. If I am the most famous blogger in the world, great. But if I am not, as long as I still have fun blogging I feel grateful to share my stories, to inspire others and to be a professional blogger.

Do you have any particular suggestions or tips for the upcoming or newbie bloggers?

Ryan Biddulph:-Follow your fun. What can you talk about all day long? Blog about that topic. Then, tie your passion into some pressing problem or delightful dream that people experience. If you blog for fun, the work is the reward, and all other things (traffic, comments, profits) are extra or a bonus. This is the attitude to take as a newbie blogger if you want to do things effectively from Day 1.

  1. Hi Reji and Ryan,
It is indeed a good interview. knowing about Ryan’s experience about traveling and blogging is really awesome. And I have also been to Kerala and it is really the God’s own country and one of the beautiful states of India.
And I must say that writing 1000 to 10,000 words in a day is difficult. I can hardly write 2000 words in a day, so I think that Ryan should teach us that how he writes 10,000 words in a day.
In the end, I enjoyed reading this interview.
Thnks for the great share Reji.

  2. Hello Reji,

    Inspiring interview with Ryan.

Though I don’t have regular chats with Ryan, I know him very well. The best thing about him is that he never gets tired of writing, and sticking to this work. Many people get deviated after a certain period of time and start multiple stuff at once.

Hope he continues to inspire us all.

    Good luck Ryan πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Shibu,

Glad to see your valuable comment. Yes, Ryan is an inspiration for any blogger. Regarging new blog post ideas, I do a lot of reading related to my niche where I use to write. Also, going through the comments below different posts is a good idea to some more ideas.I make it a habit of writing down the post ideas as soon as anything come to my mind. So, I always keep a small jotting pad and pen handy with me whereever I go. Watching YouTube videos may help you getting some ideas. I already wrote a blog post explaining how to find niche ideas for a blog but never wrote a post explaining how to get new ideas for a blog post. So, I am thinking of publishing one very soon.

Once again thank for your visit and the blog comment.

    2. For me Shibu, I am huge on reading many topics and blogs from my blogging tips niche. I see what top bloggers cover and tend to write on similar topics. Also, starting the habit of writing 1000 words daily just for practice, for many years, helped me keep those ideas coming too.
