The Smartphone industry is one of the fastest growing and most innovative industries of our time. The way they have evolved, and the advances that have been made since their inception are just downright amazing. Who would have thought that one day we will be able to hold a smartphone which would have 6 Gigabyte of RAM!
Very few people are aware of this fact: it was a collaboration between IBM and Bell South which produced the first smartphone: Simon in 1993. It was a touchscreen-enabled phone which could send emails and faxes. It was followed by the PDAs and later on the communicator series by Nokia. Even more, people will be shocked to hear it, but Symbian was the most used smartphone system up until the end of the last decade.
That is a far cry from what is going on now. Today almost 84% of the market is dominated by Android alone, which was one of the last major entrants to the market. IOS and Android account for almost 98% of the market. The increase in capability of what a smartphone can do has had a fascinating impact on our lives. People today just cannot live without their smartphone.
For most of us, it is a link to our social circles. 76 million Twitter users send almost 380 million tweets every day. And almost 370 million likes are shared by Facebook users daily. Even more interesting is the fact that more emails are being sent through a smartphone than from PCs. And on average people check 40 times for news on their smartphones. Even in the entertainment section, the smartphone has supplanted the giant that is TV. 88% of users use their smartphones while watching TV.These are just a few figures.

Yes ! i am completely agreed with your stance. Over the period of time mobile market really emerged to the new levels. Thanks for sharing this information. Really effective and perfect. The reason why we have observed a significant growth in mobile market is because of the reason of transformation in its manufacturing processes. By adding new formations and gadgets in a smartphone, its performance could be really enhanced.
